Ikin Dance is one of Queensland’s leading Dance and fitness studios based on the Gold Coast in Varsity Lakes. Established in 2001 by Anthony Ikin, who is a former sports aerobics World Champion and a top 10 finalist on the debut series of So You Think You Can Dance Australia. Ikin Dance is located on the stunning Gold Coast. The studio is a 5 minute drive to Robina Town Centre & a 10 minute walk to and from Varsity Lakes Train Station.
Many past graduates of Ikin Dance Full-Time are dancing on contracts all over the world, living their dream. Some have successful PT businesses and others have become incredible and succesful Dance Teachers and Choreographers!
Ikin Dance is a unique Full-Time Dance Course, being the only course in the country to offer 3 separate certifications: Certificate III and IV in fitness and a Certificate IV in dance, all completed within a 1 year period. We believe that having these 3 qualifications ensures our graduate’s further employment opportunities when entering this incredible yet evolving industry.
Subjects:
Jazz, Commercial Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Music Theatre, Acrobatics, Dance Technique, Cabaret, Audition Technique, Drama, Business and Fitness.
Contact Hours:
1 year Full-Time, Monday through Friday approx. 8am-3pm. All school holidays and public holidays are given in line with the QLD school system.
Pre-Requisites:
Prior dance training is expected. Ikin Dance welcomes all styles of dance! We believe an eclectic group with varying talents makes for the best year!
Possible Career:
Pursue a professional career either Performing, Choreographing or Teaching. Or a career as a Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructor.

Gaz Griffiths – Ikin Dance Full Time 2010 Graduate.
Since graduating from Ikin Dance Full Time 2010, Gaz made it to the top 20 of Channel 10’s hit show, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’! Gaz then topped this by making it to the finals of Channel 7’s ‘Australia’s Got Talent’! Gaz is a crucial member of Australia’s best break dance crew, Team Cream!
